Hey guys,

So a few months ago I upgraded my PS4's hard drive to 1tb so now I have the PS4 500GB stock drive spare.

I am building a PC and would like to use the 500GB PS4 stock drive in the PC to save money. Would this be possible? and also would I need to re-format it?

Thanks in advance guys

Yep, I did this with my PS4 and used that drive to upgrade a 250GB drive in an old laptop. Also like basriol said, it's the smaller 2.5" laptop drive and you will need to just format with NTFS. Also unless your PC case comes with one, you'll need to buy a mounting bracket that would hold that drive in the regular desktop PC 3.5" slot for a HDD. Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817997037&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Accessories+-+Hard+Drive-_-N82E16817997037&gclid=CMDKvKab-ssCFYE8gQodtIkEBQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Regarding formatting, I just connected the drive to a PC via a USB SATA/IDE drive adapter and formatted it as an external drive.
