Hi there, my son is in need of a pc for gaming. The budget is around £1400. I am absolutely clueless but do not want the sales guy in currys to sell me something that is not good value for money.

Could any guys on here recommend a pc for my budget. Or if you were going to spend 1400 then what would you buy.

Thanks in advance

I presume you're in the UK. Personally I would recommend PCSpecialist, based in Wakefield, and they custom build for you. They're good guys and will give you honest advice and not give it the hard sell.

Ask your lad what kind of games he plays - AAA stuff? Will he be using it to watch videos (Netflix etc - if so get an IPS monitor)

PS: Stay away from Currys/PC world. Overpriced, and to be honest most of them don't know what they're talking about.

PPS: as tmwoodard64 said above Cyberpower also make good PC's - as do https://www.chillblast.com/
