can you recommend a memory?

Hi - I am looking at upgrading my memory. my laptop currently runs on 2 x 2gb and it can run on 8gb max (either 1 x 8gb or 2 x 4gb). it says on it " 2gb 1R x8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - B1"
can you recommend whether a 2 x 4gb or a 1 x 8gb is best in an inspiron 15R N5010 i5 64bit operating system and able to tell me what to look out for
i.e - can I buy a pc3 - 12800 or just a 10600 (if both which is better) and is there anything else written on that, that I must ensure I look for e.g 204/ddr3 etc etc

as you probably gather I am not great at this, so appreciate any help

Buy the cheapest 2x4gb ddr3 sodimm you can find, anything with 1.5V rating should work.

Thank you for your reply. I am confused as I also spoke to Dell who gave me the product code X830D as the memory i need. or i could search 4GB dimm (not sodimm he said) DDR3 1333MHZ 204 pin?

Either that tech guy is a total idiot or you're confused as to what he said. Your laptop uses sodimm.
