This is my current (dead) system. In order to save money I would love to be able to replace the MOBO and keep everything else. Is this possible and if so can you recommend a board? Or is this just a stupid idea knowing how much components have changed since 2015. The system has been serving my needs fine when it has worked

EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 220-G2-0850-XR 80+ GOLD 850W

That 2nd one is ddr3. Need ddr4. Dont mind spending more on the board if I get to keep my memory and gpu etc

There are some choices out there however once they start getting into the $300 range as most of them are then it may be more beneficial to upgrade the CPU & MB to a newer platform.

Price to features though the generic Chinese boards are probably going to be your best bet unless your heavily overclocking.

I did notice that one board I was looking at made it sound like it could only be used with windows 10. Didnt know this was a thing. I am still on win7 as 10 doesnt work with my large format photo printers.

There's Win7 drivers on Asrock's site so I don't think there would be an issue.
