I need both smaller size and weight. I'm short like 1.7 and I'm kinda weak. It's a pain carrying around a midi tower but I don't want to sacrifice decent air flow and the specs that I bought.

For a real downsizing you look at a small itx case. But that means new mobo, psu, gpu at least. Maybe keep the idea and plan your next rig arround that.

About the lightest you get is around 9.25lbs, but that's getting pretty flimsy.

I don't like that corsair cases have openings on the upper part of the case, I'm paranoid about something dropping in and ruining the system.

Nope. Because you have an ATX motherboard, you need a case that accepts ATX motherboards. They'll all have 7 expansion slot brackets on the back. mATX has 4. mITX has 0-2.

What's your case budget? Are you in the USA?

Quality cases tend to have mesh somewhere at the top. That won't allow solid things to get through except odd situations, like I guess a very lucky drop of a tiny needle? They will allow liquids to get through, but you should position your case in a location where it's unlikely that you'll spill liquids on it (and never sitting a liquid on top).
