Question Can you recommend me a Graphics Card for my old DQ77MK motherboard?

Hi all,
I have an old Base Unit that performs perfectly adequately for my tasks, BUT I am addicted to the old MS Age of Empires games. Unfortunately, it refuses to play V3 of this game citing that I have a 500mb card and it needs 1gb minimum.

Could someone please help me eke out a bit more life from this PC without spending too much. Recommend me a decent card that can hit and exceed the requirement on this system, perhaps into the next two years, without having to get bogged down upgrading anything else?

I suspect this is a straightforward issue, but I am way out of touch now.

Make and model of your PSU and it's age? If your PSU is up to snuff, you could look into a GTX750Ti or a GTX1050Ti but nothing beyond that since your platform is the limiting factor.

using a 1050ti with my i7-2600K, it's a cpu slightly weaker than your cpu. The 1050ti works fine playing most PS4 games I feed to it.

1050ti should work fine for your i7-3770k.

if you can't get a 1050ti, a GTX 1650 should work fine too.

and in the scenario that you can't get a 1050ti or 1650...

a GT 1030 (GDDR5 version) should work as well, and it's cheap. But be warned, this gpu is weaker than the other two I've mentioned. Only get this if your budget is really limited, or if your power supply cannot handle anything stronger.

about 3 years, I think, low use PC.

safe to get a GT 1030. It's a gpu with low power requirement.

It has 2gb of vram, and does not need aux power.
It's passmark performance rating is 2537 compared to 138 for your HD5450

you're welcome. just be sure to get the GDDR5 version of the GT 1030. It should go well with your i7-3770.

the cpu used in the video is an i7-2600 (your 3770 is stronger), 16 gb ram, and a GT 1030.
