Can you remove a stick of dual channel ram and install on new pc?

So I've built a computer last year and I've had 2x16gb dual ddr4 ram because I used to do 3d animations. However now I'm planning to build a ethereum mining rig, I was just wondering if I could save some money by removing one of the 16gb from my current pc(leaving my pc with 1x16gb stick of dual channel ram), and then install that removed 16gb stick in the new motherboard for the mining rig.
If you could help that'd be greatly appreciated, Thank you!

First off, dang, that’s a lot in ram, but not going to fully criticize/praise you about it. In terms of your question, it should work. It would just convert to single channel mode.
