Can you replace a intel celeron with a intel pentium 4 processor 640?

i have a question? can you replace a laptop with intel celeron 900 installed, but i want to replace with intel pentium 4 640 processor. is it possible?

Nope. That's my first inclination, especially without information like model number and such. Additionally the Pentium 4M is what you need for a laptop, you cannot use a desktop CPU.

Compaq Presario CQ62

CPU: Intel Celeron 900 @ 2.2 Ghz

RAM: 3 GB

The good new is that the laptop has a modular socket, rather than soldered chip.

The bad news is that you are limited to Pentium 4-M processors, and even then you run the risk of overwhelming the laptops cooling system because it was not designed for any other processor.

No, because the 640 is a desktop processor. The only possible processors you can use are on that list I posted.
