Hi all,

So, I have an internal SSD with Windows 10 and my laptop broke (mobo issue unable to turn on).

I am changing to a new laptop but I need to run some applications on that Windows and save some files.

Question:

Can I convert that internal SSD using an external USB and run the old Windows on the new laptop? Is this possible to do?
If not, any other suggestions?

Can you run a Windows install from an external USB? yeah, kinda.

Can you run something already installed on a whole different system? No.

You can connect it with a USB dock and extract individual files. But you can't run the OS and applications from it.

Damn, thats what i thought.
Do you know what will happen if I change bios settings and try to boot from it?
Will it just freeze and throw an error?
