i have a dvi monitor (Dell IN2020M_Analog) and a xbox one and i was wondering if i could use a hdmi to dvi adapter to play my xbox one on this monitor. (IMPORTANT) the Dell IN2020M_Analog is a 1600x900 monitor but through the nivida control panel i overclockted it to 1920x1080 i was wondering if it would work sence i overclockted my monitor to that

It sounds similar to upscaling, although I'm not sure how you can achieve it, seeing as the monitor is hardware-limited to 1600x900.

Anyway, putting resolution to one side, have you considered that an HDMI/DVI adapter won't transmit audio? The Xbox One will transmit audio and video via the HDMI cable, but the DVI adapter will cut the audio. DVI is for video transmission only.

Unless you can use the Xbox One's optical audio output (S/PDIF) then you'll be playing your games on mute.
How can you add pixels to your monitor in Nvidia control panel there is physically a number of pixels that cannot be changed by hardware.? As for the question it should work as long as the monitors DVI port is not DVI-A type but I don't know how the monitor will display a signal that is not of its native resolution.

ok...i right clicked my desktop then to nivida control panel under display i clicked change resolution then clicked on my monitors highest which was 1600x900 then clicked customize on the bottom left after that i clicked on create custom resolution then i just changed the horizontal pixels to 1920 and the vertical lines to 1080 and just confirmed it..don't ask me how it works but it does..i noticed a difference in how (hd) it was and everything was smaller so i knew it worked and now when i rick click desktop then to screen resolution it says 1600x900 (native) (recommended) and then above that 1920x1080
