I currently have an ASUS 460GTX and have an opportunity to buy a Zotac 460 GTX with twice the memory at a very good price. Is it possible to SLI them, and if so, are there any "gotchas" I need to be aware of?

Thank you,

Solution
It used to be possible to SLi a 1GB card with a 2GB card but things may have changed. It is not possible to SLi a 768MB card with a 1GB card and some 1GB GTS250's couldn't be SLi'd with 512MB GTS250's or 512MB GTX9800's.
First off, thank you for the reply. I am very new to this.

The ASUS is a 1GB and the Zotac is a 2GB - is that going to be a problem? I would place the 2GB card in my primary slot.

So if I am understanding you correctly, it's not worth the money for the 2GB card if I have to lower the memory down to 1GB. Guess I should just spend the extra money and get a 570GTX and worry about SLI later on.

Okay. Thank you for the help. On another note, would it be worth getting two, 2GB cards and just sit on that solution for a while?

I am running a i7 2600k processor and know I am set for a while with my current mb setup.

Thank you. Time to send back the Zotac and order a 460GTX 1GB card - should I match that up with another ASUS, or does it really not matter? I know there are better buys out there than ASUS.

On that note, I like a quiet setup, any thoughts on a nice quiet second 460?
