Can you SLI these two MSI cards?

Yes. For SLI, you need the same model (e.g. GTX 970), and the same amount of VRAM (e.g. 4GB ]or 3.5GB + 0.5GB :p]). That's it, assuming the rest of your system supports SLI, so manufacturer doesn't matter.

If the cards are different speeds, the total SLI speed will adjust down to the slower card. But if you overclock the slower card to match the faster card, overall SLI speed will run at the speed both cards are set to.
