So im planning to build my dad a new PC cause his old one has become very slow and also because he has had it for like a good few yearss like yeaaarrrsss. Our budget is about £450 - £500, he does very light gaming, very to little video / photo editing so its mostly like a hobby thing, and just daily use in general (he uses a PC mostly everyday) (and he told me he wants it to be fast), Anyways here's the parts I've picked out and got advice from (from others in the forums) this will also be a fathers day gift which is on Sunday:)

CPU: Ryzen 2600
M/B: ASUS B450 - Plus
RAM: 2x4GB Corsair vengeance 3000mhz RAM (this will be from my current build so i will be upgrading my RAM to 16gb)
SSD: Crucial 250GB SSD (i installed this on his old pc to make it a bit faster so i will be just reusing it on his new build)
HDD: Seagate barracuda 2TB HDD
GPU: MSI GT 1030 2GB
PSU: Be quiet pure power 400w 80+ gold

Do you think this would be good? :)

EDIT: i shoulda changed the title a bit, this build is also around £460

He's not really gonna be gaming hence why i chose a low end gpu tho
Compare the prices for the GT 1030 and RX 580/GTX 1660 there. If it's not a big increase, go for it. They will help more with video editing, and the 1030 isn't nearly as good.

I'm sure your dad will get more enjoyment out of those rather than the 1030.
Please refrain from making multiple threads, reply to your old thread and we will assist you there.

Considering the 250 GB SSD and 2x4GB ram sticks are going to be reused, you should put the money you save from not having to buy those towards a better GPU (at least RX 580, GTX 1660 recommended). Everything else looks good in my book.

edit: so even if i buy an rx580 or 1160 it would be overkill for him plus the budget, and also it wouldnt get used to it's full potential

Okay, i'll see what it comes down to in the end but ofcourse we'd like to lower our price limit if you get me, but i will consider it

Yooo, so i found a gtx 970 on facebook market that has been used but its in good condition apparently, (Im yet to enquire more questions to the person selling it) and the guy is selling it for £80 which is the same as if i were to buy the 1030 new, this is a good deal right? if it still functions fully of course lol our budget is still kinda tight for the rx 580 / 1160 but u think that 970 would be ideal enough

GTX 970 is about 250% faster than the GT 1030. Yes. Just make sure the seller is reputable.
