I've had problems with my newly built PC. I bought a power supply tester and found that my PSU was DOA... Only one light on the power supply tester was lit up.
Now that I know my PSU was dead all this time, I can send it back for replacement. But I also want to know if my motherboard is dead.
I build the computer out of the case when it didn't turn on the first time; having only the motherboard, CPU, HSF, RAM, and PSU. I tried to short my motherboard to turn on using a screwdriver but nothing happened. Is it suppose to turn on if the PSU is dead?
Can the motherboard power on without a PSU?
