Can you use a extension cord with a PC?

I have a gaming PC with a FX-850 and running triple 24" monitors in my basement. Unfortunately there is only one outlet down there and it's kinda not in a good place for my setup. I'm wondering if it'd be ok to use a extension cord of some kind to put the PC in a better place in the room.

My setup:
The PC and 3 Monitors, 5 channel surround sound, a floor lamp, steering wheel and pedal setup & a small tablet is plugged in sometimes to charge.

All of that is plugged into a CyberPower - 650VA Battery Back-Up. What kind of cord or device would I need to buy to plug in between the battery backup and the extension in the wall? Or is that even recommended? I have no problem spending money on a good cord if it solves my problem.

Thanks,
Jeffrey

A good quality extension cord should suffice.
The longer the cord needs to be, the better the gauge of the cord should be.
Buy a stronger gauge than you really need, it is cheap insurance.
Probably 12 gauge heavy duty is more than enough. FWIW light duty might be 16 gauge.

Ok Thanks. Looks like my local Home Depot has a 12 gauge 25 foot for a decent price that I think I'll try and use. Never have understood why they only put on outlet in that room.
