I WANT TO BUY A 1GB RAM DDR2,BY CHANGING THE 512 MB WITH 1GB.MY FRIEND HAD INSTALLED 3GB RAM IN SAME MB.CAN I ALSO COULD HAVE 3 GB.BUT MY LIMITATION IS 2GB.

2GB was probably the maximum RAM at the time of release, since 2GB sticks probably didn't exist then, or at least weren't widespread. I have a Dell Dimension E310 that also says the max RAM is 2GB, and yet I've installed a 2x2GB kit in it with no problems at all. I have an even older chipset than yours (915GV vs 945G), so I'd say the 2GB limitation is bull. 4GB is the highest you can go.
