Cannon PowerShot S110

So what I would like to know is does this take good photos? I'm new to camera specs and hardware so I don't know much. I use my iPod to take photos and I really enjoy photography. I would like a camera that would be a big step up from my iPod. I found the Cannon PowerShot S110 and thought it would be a step up from the iPod camera. Would it be worth it to buy this camera?

Thanks for the help! That video did help and it didn't take too long for me to find out that my brother owns the s100 and that the s110 and s100 were almost the same one big difference was that the s110 has the wifi thing.
