[SOLVED] Cannot access files after a drive in a 2-drive Storage Pool failed

I previously setup a two-way mirror Storage Pool in Windows 10 with 2 hard disks. This Storage Pool was assigned the 'D' letter.

All of a sudden beginning from yesterday, I stopped being able to access any files in the storage pool. When I click on D drive, it says "D: is not accessible. The specified data could not be read from any of the copies".

When I go to the Windows Storage Pool tool, it says "Error No Resiliency; check the Physical drives section". Under this section, one of the drives has a Warning symbol but no further info is given. I assume this is the drive that failed.

Disk Management shows that D drive is in RAW format.

Things I have tried/considered:
  • Reinstalling Windows 10 and updating to the latest version did not work.
  • Deleting the Storage Pool and restoring from a backup is not possible as some of my files are stored only in the Pool.
  • Adding a third and working hard disk to the Pool via the Storage Pool tool) did not work.
Is there any way to fix this? For example, reverting from the storage pool to just a normal disk drive? I have alot of data in D drive so I would of course prefer to fix this without any data loss.

With a 2 way mirror, the data is supposed to be accessible if one drive fails.

This is why this RAID business is no substitute for a real backup.
