Cannot access network location 1606

try to install MS office pro 2007 and I got this error "Cannot access network location error 1606.

either by trying to do this on a network on local?

I believe my registry is corrupted but I can still install programs no problem but when I try to in MS or free offfice it does the same.



I have vista ultimate SP2
intel 2.13ghz CPU
4.00gb RAM
32-bit OS

Was Office 2007 already installed at some point? If so, was it installed from a network location? If so, then that is why you're having issues...

Office wan't install at the time. I did try to install it from the network because I need a new CD-rom right now.

I also even down load free office and got the same error so this error comes up either way.

remove the old copy and try again, also if you think you registery is corrupt google ccleaner and run the reg clean function!

could work! I'll give it a try and also make sure MS office folder are still not there before I try to install again.

try it and it gave me the same error.

My daughter has been using this PC since I was on my other..... now that MOBO has died, I don't have a computer to either study or work.

my vista OS that I'm on now maybe corrupted so that maybe another reason why it won't install.

I can't do any OS repairs right now because the CD-rom broke.... my 2 year old push the PC over and it went.

I need a small form factor sata dvd burner but can't seem to find one at a good price.

it need a notebook ROM with sata... dell setup there specs with there new desktops at the time.

however, if there is a better direction to fix this, let me know guys and thanks for the help.

eitherway, I still need a new CD-drive.
