Windows Update cannot be accessed after a clean install of XP / SP3 Home Edition and IE8. Automatic updates function, various websites can be accessed, except for Microsoft.com.
In the past, I have circumvented this problem by using another web browser. So far, this has not worked because all the browsers, I have attempted to install, i.e, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, SJ, all require SSE2 support, not available on the processor.
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(TM) 1.2 GHz
Memory: 512 MB
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
