I recently purchased a 2x8 gb 2400 MHz corsair vengeance memory kit. I was warned by a friend that I would likely need to change my XMP setting in my bios, which turns out to have been true even before this. I downloaded and ran CPU-Z to find I've been running at 665.1 MHz for as long as I've owned my setup. I attempted to activate the XMP in bios, but the option simply isnt there. My bios dont look like the bios that are in images that I've seen online, but I have no means to take a picture of them. I am attaching screen captures of the CPU-Z report and my System summary. Please explain how I'm supposed to fix this issue?

Solution
Pre-built systems like that do not tend to come with a bios that supports the settings you are looking for.

On the plus side the memory is not running at 1/4 speed. It is running at 1333(most likely the default set in the bios OR the SPD data on the memory itself.)

If it is the SPD data from the memory you may be able to flash the ram to a different speed, but this is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED for new users. I my self have only done it once and it was to slow memory down because my laptop was unstable at the SPD speeds.

You could contact Acer to see if they have any bios updates that may help but I have a feeling you may be stuck with what you have.
