All of a sudden MSG files saved from Outlook 2013 cannot be opened. When I try to open one I get the standard window asking me to choose a program to open it with. I choose Outlook 2013 and select the box to always use this program and click OK. Still does not work. I also selected OUTLOOK.EXE in the Office15 program folder to be sure, but same result. Also, using the Default Programs wizard with the options "Set your default programs" and "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" do not work either. MSG is associated with Outlook 2013 in Default Programs. When starting Outlook it also notifies me that it is not the default application for mail. Setting it as default and telling it to remember the setting causes the message to appear next time Outlook is started. When opening an MSG file as an email attachment, it only opens when I choose to save the file first, then open it.
This problem is profile related as it only happens with this specific domain user. I can recreate his local Windows profile but if there is a simple registry fix or something for this I would rather do that.
