Cannot boot from CD

I've been trying to boot from an iso disk I made to install Windows 7. When I'm at the boot menu and I select the cd, it goes black and the cd drive revs up, then it just stops and goes back to the menu. I've made sure that the iso is fine, I got the disk today, and I put the disk to boot before the HDD. Really don't know what to do

You need to burn the iso file to the disk.

+1 or use rufus and extract the files to a flash drive

Already did that. And I've checked the files on it to make sure it would boot

ON the burning utility, you want to select Create a BOOTABLE CD/DVD.

DId that too. I've used my burning software previously to put linux on a laptop and it worked flawlessly.

I did my win7 with a bootable flash, because I had a bunch of flash sitting in the drawer and why bother with burning anything. 8G flash is all you need, and used YUMI to create the package. I forgot how I created the ISO. The microsoft util didn't work for me so I used something else, heck if I remember now.
