I am trying to boot from installation media on a USB. My end goal here is to restore Windows image to a new larger HDD but I cannot boot from the USB to get into System Image Recovery menu to do the restore. Every reboot is taking me into existing Windows and not booting off of the USB drive.

Troubleshooting steps
  1. Verified the installation media is 64 bit.
  2. Created new fresh installation media on a new usb drive.
  3. Tried setting the boot sequence in BIOS as USB HDD and tried setting it as USB DVD.
  4. Attempted to boot from USB a million times.
I have a gigabyte motherboard.

Any ideas? I'm stumped.

in your bios you may need to enable legacy boot or CSM mode to bypass secure boot
