cannot boot from SSD, even with override.

I've tried some overclocking but realized my cpu cooler cannot handle it, so I went back to default settings. The boot from ssd used to work fine, but now even though the boot order is the same and the bios can see both drives, I can only boot from my hdd.

If I select the ssd as the #1 drive in boot settings and start my pc, first I see the "press del to enter bios" screen, and after that I see the black screen with the _ mark moving for a while, and after that it automatically enters bios. If I try to override from the bios, I see the black screen with the _ again and it sends me back to the bios again. The only way that I can boot into windows is if I have the hdd as the #1 drive or I override with the hdd.

windows is on ssd, and I've been using the pc for more than a year, had always been booting from ssd without a problem. any ideas?

Solution
Check what SATA port is set to, For SSDs AHCI is preferred. If you had it in AHCI mode and it's in IDE mode or vice versa, windows would refuse to boot.
