Cannot boot into my pc

Hello so recently i have upgraded from 7 to w10 and today i cant start my pc. It starts loading the windows then opens a blank screen with mouse cursor and the spinning dots circle after 30 min the circle dissapeared but mouse is still there with a blank screen and the red led of hdd is always red. What do i do? Ttied to restart few times.

Try pressing ctrl+shift+esc to launch task manager then click create a new task and enter "explorer.exe"

You should definitely make a clean installation of Windows 10 using a USB stick.
If you have data that you need on there then I am unsure of what to do as i've never heard of your issue before.

Tried that. It doesnt open the task manager. The mouse lags for a sec and doesnt do anything

Guys, the pc made some progress. Now it got to the login screen and writing welcome but i think its also lagged cuz spinning for a few minutes now.

Why wouldn't he be able to enter bios if he is loading into windows?

It logged in into a black screen with mouse curson lagging a lot. Still cant open task manager.

I have never heard of your issue, I don't really know what is wrong... You will definitely need to contact someone who knows about this issue.

That was an issue a percentage of people that simply upgraded ran into. Like mattbar hinted at, the explorer.exe app is failing to launch on boot up. You may have to restore the computer to a point prior to the latest update in order to fix the issue completely. This was the only way I was able to fix the same issue that occurred on a friends PC.

However like KR2 said, in the long run it'll be better to do a fresh install via usb or disk.

I have windows 10 install on usb but also have some files on my C drive and would like to not lose them

You can try this, the third post there. This issue has been called "The Black Screen of Death" If you want to google search some other fixes, aside for a system restore.

Ok so system restore did not help. It rolled back to yesterday but it didn't solve my 2nd black screen so I put the USB again and there was some option to roll back a patch or something and it got me back to Windows 7, now it works fine.
Maybe I'll go W10 later but for now I'll stay with Windows 7.
