Cannot boot windows 7 after removing Mcafee anti virus

Hello,
cannot boot into win 7, "Startup Repair" screen
pops up. States to, "start window normaly" or
"start Repair". Starting normaly repeats bringing upthis pop up box. "Repair" doe nothing but
ask if I want to go to a "Restore Point". But then
I would lost all my most recent program installs.
#1 Problem signature is 6.1.7600.16385
#4 Problem signature is 21200461

What procedure did you use when removing the AV program? Did you do a plain uninstall, or did you go "deep" and performed some registry clean-up and such?
I would get the Windows disk and do a repair-install of the OS. You will not lose the programs, but you will lose all the Windows updates. It's better than losing everything via a clean install, however, in the end, if this does not work, it might come down to that.
