I'm trying to connect my EVGA Supernova G2 850W PSU to my Gigabyte z97 Gaming 5 ATX motherboard. I'm looking to connect the ATX 12V power (2x4pin) but the connectors don't match. In a little kid way to phrase, this is what I'm looking at:

Needs to be: first 4 pin (square, round, round, square) this matches my first 4 pin connector from the PSU, so it's okay

Second 4 pin: (round, square, square, round) the second 4 pin connector from the PSU is entirely round connectors, so they don't match. The PSU comes with a CPU 1 and CPU 2 cord, but they're both the same so neither has the second set I need to match.

It's been over 10 years since I've built my last computer, so I'm way out of the loop on this. Any help is appreciated.

So only use the one 4 pin connector that matches? I just installed an i5-4690K CPU so I want to make sure it has adequate power.

You're correct. I just had to gently force the second 4 pin connector in. It's all booted up now.

Thanks!
