Over the past few days my computer has been losing it's internet connection and I don't know why. At exactly 2am (gmt) my pc goes into limited connection and will regain it when I've woken in the morning. I can still connect to the router from the pc after 2. After 2am, other devices I have access to still have full connection. I've ran the troubleshooter and get back the 'windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary dns server)'. I have tried some 'solutions' provided online with no success, and cannot directly interact with the router at night as it is in someone else's bedroom and don't want to disturb them.

Hard code your IP a valid ip within the subnet you use but not the current one or the ip of any other machine....well you could turn off one of the working devices and hard code its ip. This will eliminate any ip filters in the router. This assumes someone intentionally is setting the router to stop you which is not a technical issue really.

Only other thing would be a firewall rule or some other software on the machine blocking you. You could boot a prebuild ubuntu DVD, ie it run completely from the DVD, and see if you can get access this would rule out the OS since you are running a different one.
