cannot connect with the lan and wifi in windows 8.1 why?

i am not getting wifi option on my laptop HP Notebook - 15-r203tx after installing windows 8.1 and cannot identify the ethernet network which i am plugging in... Plz help...

Have you installed the Windows 8.1 drivers for your laptop model from the HP website? My guess is you have not.
Download them from here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/7486447/model/7584372/drivers/

Note - install the Chipset driver first, then the rest.
