Question Cannot create full-sized volume on Samsung 990 Pro + ASUS Hyper M.2 ?

I am running into an unusual problem and would like to see if anyone else has this configuration and has had similar issues or has it working.

I have an ASUS WRX80 with two ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 cards installed. In my previous configuration, where I started with a clean install of Windows 10 almost 18 months ago, I had the two cards loaded with Samsung 980 Pros (4 on each card for 8 total.) At that time, I had created two separate spanned volumes using Disk Management in Windows 10.

I recently experienced a drive failure on my NVME drive that was hosting Windows, so I was forced to clean install. I cleaned install Windows 11 21H2 and then updated it to Windows 11 22H2. After the install was complete, both spanned volumes were visible and worked great.

After the drive failure, I decided that I would upgrade the NVME drives on one of the Hyper cards to the Samsung 990 Pros. This would allow me to have some spare drives in case I experienced another failure. After completing the install of the drives and then attempting to create a spanned volume using Disk Management, I only have the option to create a volume with a maximum size of 1907712 MB. The total volume size in MB listed is 7630848, which is how much I should be able to use, but attempting to enter a different size in the "select the amount of space in MB:" box fails if the size is greater than 1907712 MB. I have all 4 drives, which are listed as "dynamic" and "unallocated" in Disk Management added to the volume. I also attempted to use diskpart to create the volume, but got the error message "The volume you have specified is too big for the specified disk(s)."

This is all very odd to me because I have a perfectly good spanned volume using the 980 Pros and that volume is 7630848 in size, meaning it uses the maximum capacity of each drive. The difference is that this volume was created under Windows 10 and migrated to Windows 11.

I have attempted to create a striped volume as well and have the same problem. I have not attempted to put the 980s back in place as I really want to get the 990s working. I suspect that there might be a bug in Windows 11 that is causing this problem. I have purchased 3rd party drive management software, but I have to wait to download it due to some issues that the vendor is having (longer story.)

If anyone has a combination of the Hyper card with the 990s running Windows 11 22H2 and used Disk Management to create the volume, it would be great to hear from you. If you need more information and/or screen shots, please let me know.
