We got a Dell Inspiron 24 All-In-One which came pre-loaded with Windows 11. Home.

I have been trying to make a recovery USB for it, using a new PNY 32gb USB stick, and get and cannot see the USB Drive. I had checked the "Back up system files to the recovery drive" option. I then get to a screen that requests I put in a usb with 32gb of space.

I had found an article that said to uncheck the "Back up system files to the recovery drive", It then says to go back and to try to check the "Back up system files to the recovery drive" option. I tried this and without this checked, I saw the USB drive and proceeded. When I went back to the checkbox, selected it, and proceeded, again I could not see the usb drive and couldn't proceed.

I found another article that said to run reagentc /info from an admin prompt . I did this and I did and it said "Windows RE status: Enabled". I actually have no idea what this means but it didn't give an error.

I am now wondering if maybe there is more than 32gb needing to fit on the usb drive?

If anybody has a solution, could you let me know?

Thanks!

Despite the following suggestions to uncheck and recheck system file backup, the USB drive remains undetected... Running "reagentc /info" indicates Windows RE status is enabled. Consider verifying if more than 32gb is required for the USB drive or seek further assistance for a solution.
I hope you will find a solution

Thank you for your response!

How do I verify if more than 32gb is required? Are there files / directories to check?

Let me know and, again, thanks!
