I am unable to create a custom win pe rescue media nor am I able to do a system restore using any 3rd party backup software like aomei backupper/easeus to do backup/macrium reflect & acronis.

I remember to have successfully created a rescue media and perform a system restore using easeus to do backup weeks ago.

Back then I did not see this prompt to download windows aik/adk like I do now.

The restore operation in aomei doesnt work too telling me 'this is unavailable in gpt'.

My system is running on win 10 ent v1511 64 bit/uefi/has a gpt layout.

Can anybody tell me how do I fix this?

It's not obvious what you're trying to do. I've been using Easeus Todo Backup Free successfully for backup and restore for about 5 years without the first problem. You mention a number of different programs so I'll just point out that you have to use the same program for restore that you used for backup because they all have their own unique way of doing things.

Good luck.

@wpgwpg & @USAFRet I have a disk image backup with easeus & a partition image backup with aomei. I am unable to create win pe rescue media on either of them. I remember to have restored my system using easeus's backup 2 weeks back without the rescue media. But this time I thought of trying to create the rescue media to restore it but I failed to create one.

AOMEI also throws up an error "cannot boot into....in gpt". I will post screenshots tomorrow. FYI The windows 10 version installed on my system is new, fresh( updated till the last month)

I tried creating the easeus win pe rescue media on a win 10 32 bit legacy desktop but there too I failed to create one. All settings, configurations are intact since the last time when I was successfully able to create one which is a month back. I have no clue on why am I suddenly facing this

You can find screenshots of the failed restore operations/recovery media creation in the following link

Acronis True Image 2016 was the only one that was able to perform the restore operation from the app by moving to the Pre-OS environment. Others were neither able to create the recovery media nor go through the restore operation.

I did manage to create linux recovery iso's in aomei & easeus. Acronis gave two options to create recovery media and was able to create a usb recovery media in option 1 but it did not boot in UEFI/legacy. option 2 gave the "download windows aik" and "acronis addons prompt"

This is what happens when I try to create a rescue media iso in macrium 6 & I have tried to create one using all the kernel options offered in macrium (win 10/win8 etc.)

And this is what happens when I initiate a restore operation from the application within windows

Will converting my hdd from gpt to mbr fix this by making winre.wim file available to these backup softwares? isnt windows adk/aik normally integrated with windows (windows 10 v1511 ent here) ?

Presently only acronis 2016's restoration from the application worked and it did boot to the acronis Pre-OS environment when I initated the restore operation from within windows

You have the Create WinPE disk button selected. I don't know why that doesn't work; I always use the Linux emergency disk option. You don't have to know anything about Linux to use it, it just boots to the Easeus application and does what you want. Give it a try - I think that will give you what you need.

Good luck.

@USAFRet I did not download it since there was only a web installer offered & web installers would take just too much time to download with my 512 kbps connection but I have gone through the respective app specific forums & there they have concluded saying that installing that downloaded file didn't fix it either.

@wpgwpg ok will try to use those iso's to make a bootable usb (using rufus) and will see if I am able to use it in UEFI. I will post my findings here

If, on your current system, the creation of the WinPE requires that you download something...and you do not download that something...it probably will not work.
I'm not sure what other result you were expecting.
