I removed a child domain that had a dns zone delegation
in the root domain. The problem is that I am cleaning up
after the child domain removal and it keeps giving me an
access denied message when trying to delete the
delegation or the name server in the delegation I am
trying to delete. I have made sure that I am a member of
the enterprise admins and the dnsadmins group. Any ideas?

You mean trying to delete the grayed out delegated child folder?

Is the parent zone AD Integrated or a Primary zone?

If AD Integrated, have you tried ADSIEdit?
