Cannot do windows repair. requires admin password that I dont haveHELP

My laptop got a virus that seems to have jacked something bad because after it had happened all my icons and start menu dissappeared. Luckily security essentials deleted the virus but the damage was already done. I restarted and it BSOD's with 0x0000007b. I cannot launch normally or in safe mode or last good config. Nothing.

Did some research and maybe the MBR got jacked up. So I use my XP cd to attempt a repair install but once I hit repair and choose the drive, it asks for an administrator password. I dont have this password!

It is a laptop that was given to me from my school 3 years ago upon graduation. I dont want to simply reformat because of all the free programs I have.

So basically. I do not have this password, no idea what it can be. Is there a way around this to launch a repair install? Or does anyone know of a way to fix it?

I've taken the drive out and hooked it to my desktop and scanned it with malwarebytes and it is clean.

Would it be possible to maybe install windows xp on my destop on its own partition. Then go back to windows 7 and copy the windows XP windows folder and replace the windows folder on my crap drive?

Or would that not solve anything? I just want to fix without reformatting.

Contact the school, see if they will help. They set up the password, they are the best source to solve your problem.

I already gave up and reformatted. I solved the password issue by downloading a tool that wipes out passwords. Then I was stuck in a safemode loop(set safemode on inital reboot, but then I could turn it on again because of BSOD). Did repair, then repair was stuck looping because it doesnt run in safe mode. Removed safemode with command promt. Then repair required a friggen key to work. And my XP pro key wasnt working for some reason. So I said screw it and reformatted.

see if u can get in the bios & change it or safe mode, note malwarebytes is a fake it does nothing f10 for repair 12 for reset 1 other way hold down windows key+R at start-up

when ever your computer asks a password, that you dont know or have forgotten, it can be reset.
