Hi guys,
I've just finished building my system with ASUS Z97-K mobo. Booted up the machine and on startup the screen says "Press DEL or F2 to enter UEFI BIOS settings" as it should but nothing happens if I press DEL or F2. I think the mobo isn't recognizing the keyboard. The num lock lights up at the beginning and then it goes off and nothing happens. I've checked if the keyboard is okay on my laptop through USB and it's working fine. Is there something wrong with my motherboard? My full specs:

Intel 4790K
ASUS Z97-K
Samsung 850 Pro 256 GB
Cooler Master V750 PSU

Btw I've plugged my mouse into the same USB port and it lights up perfectly and stays on but I can't confirm if it's working since I cannot enter into BIOS. Please help! It's my first build and kinda scared.

Solution
this happens on some PC's and can easily fix if you have an OLD keyboard using the "PS/2" connection and not the USB one. dont worry it's just to enter the BIOS, the USB keyboard still work..(probably some leftover code that does not recognize USB Keyboard on POST)

Thanks for the answers. I've indeed tried all available USB 2.0 ports and with a PS/2 keyboard but still no luck 🙁 However an interesting thing is I can enter to the boot priority menu pressing F8. So I guess the BIOS software is faulty like probably ASUS messed up or something right? Can flashing with a newer BIOS version fix this?

Yep, BIOS update fixed that for me. Now everything's working smooth 😀 Thank you guys for your suggestions. I'm picking @quazzi's answer as solution since that PS/2 thing was really helpful. Peace.
