So recently i decided to reformat my OS harddrive. After doing this I had put a windows 7 on a flashdrive for boot (using Microsoft Program). I inserted the flash drive only to find that it was not priority to boot. : / So i restarted my computer and went into bios which i then realized had a password on it which i dident remember. Which is were everything went south.

After hours of searching my motherboard for the jumper i realized i had no plastic thing on it to reset the password so i removed the battery to see if this would reset it. Nope. So i did the next logical thing and took a screw driver and shorted the TWO prong jumper. Started my computer and was able to set priority to my flash drive. I finally was able to install Windows 7 Pro onto my 500gig harddrive. After the final reboot i got stuck and a screen where i was able to see that my disk was not set as master to load windows.

So i reentered bios to go set my harddrive with windows on it. And when i entered into bios i looked at the master and slave options and choose detect hard drive to which none of them showed up. Strange. I may mention im using a Gigabyte mother board with dual bios (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3447#ov). So when i enter bios i have option such as CMOS Standard settings where i can find master and slave channel options and then i have Advanced BIOS settings where i can set disk boot priority. In the Advanced bios settings i can see my harddrives as options for boot but when i go into the CMOS standard settings they do not appear. This is where ive been stuck for the past 10 hours of opening my computer and trying different sata slots and searching the internet for any answer at all. I have no idea why the drives are not showing in the standard CMOS settings options in bios. Please help. : /

Solution
Clear CMOS to reset BIOS to defaults; enter BIOS to set flash drive as first boot device and HDD as second device; set HDD as Master; clean install OS on that HDD; remove flash drive and reboot when prompted. All this in said order.
Let us know if it still doesn't boot after install.

Hello, a few steps as how to accomplish this are needed. For 1 how do i clear CMOS? Also i mention how i cant view my HDD as an option for Master.

Ah alright ill give it a shot. The install has been seeing the harddrive each time. The problem im having is the auto detect option for master no picking up my HDD, either of the two HDD's.
