We have an old Citizen CT-S2000 receipt printer at work.
It used to be shared to our server from an old Windows XP thin client.
We had to replace the thin client with a new one running Windows 10.
I have setup and shared the printer on the new system, but the server cannot find it.
The server is running Windows Server 2012.
File and printer sharing is turned on.

Any ideas?

Windows 10 uses a newer version of SMB by deault -- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/w...ct-enable-and-disable-smbv1-v2-v3?tabs=server
You probably have to enable one of the older versions to be compatible with Server 2012

So I looked into SMB. 2012 seems to be using the same as Windows 10.
Enabling older versions didn't make a difference.
I tried a lot of other things too and went down several rabbit holes, trying so solve various error codes that I was getting (0x0000011b, 0x0000052E, 0x00000040).
I tried connecting to the printer from another Windows 10 system.
I tried connecting and sharing another printer (just a regular printer from Brother) from the same system, to see if it was just the receipt printer that might have problems.
Both the other Windows 10 and the 2012 systems were eventually able to see the shared printers, but refused to connect.

Sometimes it's just not possible to share a printer from Windows 10, I guess.
I miss Windows 7 and workgroups.
