Cannot Format Kingston 32GB USB Drive because of Write Protection

Hello Tom Hardware

I've had this USB key for a long time now and I occasionally do back ups of it.
Sadly today I had an error with it, it is giving me the dreaded "The Disk is Write Protected" error therefore, I cannot do anything with the flash drive for the moment.

I've had the same error with a MUCH smaller drive before, so I didn't bother to keep it. But I don't really wish to throw away my 32GB one...

I have tried everything:
- Checked regedit and the WriteProtect feature (it is set to '0' in hexadecimal value);
- My drive doesn't have a manual switch on it;
- Removed the "read-only" feature using diskpart;
- Cleaned the drive with diskpart as well;
- Tried the Kingston & Patriot recovery/formatting tools without success.

Now I'm stuck with an un-formatted flash drive.

Anyone have any last ideas?

Yes, the drive is not going to work, and will need to be replaced.

Is it THAT broken?
If so it's too bad; it was working really nice, guess I'll see if I still have my receipt.
