cannot format my new SDHC caqrd for my camera and load onto my computer

just purchased NEW SDHC Card, SanDisk, for my Kodak camera to download on my computer. When I put it into my computer, screen on comp reads CANNOT FORMAT! HELP

Have you tried formatting it in the camera you intend to use it on (which is what your supposed to do)?

Put the card in your camera and look through camera's menu system for 'Card Setup' >> 'Format' or something very similar.
