I built a new i9-10900 machine and am waiting for the RTX 3080 so I decided to build the machine with the built-in Intel Graphics for now. I have a Viotek 49" Super ultra-wide monitor and connecting via display port it correctly uses 5120x1440 resolution but there are flickering aberrations that keep flashing on the screen. Using HDMI with a 4K HDMI cable it doesn't flicker but will only see the resolution as 3840x2160. All drivers are up to date, I've tried the Intel utility and it won't accept 5120x1440 as a custom resolution, says not supported. This is driving me nuts. Any ideas?

So, the RTX 2070 fixed the issue, running like a champ. Got an open box at a super discounted price. Only issue now is my Linux install won't boot to the gui lol. Working on resolving that now :)

Max res is 4096x2160 for the Integrated GPU.

This should answer your question.........

That's still 1 million pixels less than 5120x1440, only difference is arrangement (more horizontal and less vertical). And as mentioned, it does do 5120x1440 but there's flickering and lines flashing around the screen. I'm gonna go to microcenter and get an RTX 2070 or 2060 to make sure it's not the monitor. Also can use the card in my audio machine since it's only using Intel 620 graphics, so won't be a total waste to buy.
