Cannot get internet access

So, I casually mentioned to my brother-in-law how I liked to keep the internet on my Xbox one turned off because I hate the updates. He proceeds to do something (I don't know what) to the internet connection and now I can't get any internet access to my xbox one except between the hours of 12 am to 6 am. I don't know what he did, but he seems to have done it with his tablet. I want to change it back so I can download a required update. What do I do to change these internet settings?

Ask your brother-in-law mate! We don't know what he did, only he knows that.
