Well, I gave it a shot but I cannot get this new system working. I have the M4000 Quadro and bought a Dell 4k monitor, I cannot get any graphics at all to even start to configure the system so I am dead in the water. Basically I physically installed a 512g solid state drive and have 3 tb seagate that i do not have power to as I wanted to configure the SSD first. It looks like the Quadro is receiving power as its fan is working but nothing is getting to the dell monitor. there is only one cable supplied that fits the port on the Quadro (there are four identical ports) and then fits the monitor on the other end. I connected both ends but cannot see anything.

Dell monitor is 4k and has provided 2 cables: DP -mDP and a USB3.0 Upstream cable. Please help as I spent a lot of money to try and build a system for 2 sons but the cables and video ports are all new to me now.

Very demoralized because I am at a complete loss. Any ideas?

Yes, I did connect power to M4000. It's fan is spinning. Also, I did connect that mDP port. It's the only one that fit the m4000 end and the monitor. Then, I removed the m4000 and got an old pci adapter and an old monitor and hooked those up. There is no graphics at all. All 5 fans in the case are spinning, the cd is ejecting. When I ctrl alt delete, there is a response so the usb keyboard is working. Just no graphics. I read something about possible bent cpu pins and I pulled the cpu and freaked because it looked to me as if there was damage,,,almost looks like stitches! But I googled for lga2011 socket images and they look similar. I'm pretty sure i lined up the arrows for proper orientation/insertion of the processor. Finally, I stripped memory and disconnected everything but the graphics and monitor. Nothing.

Do you have a video port on the motherboard? Plug the monitor in that one.
Maybe the default in BIOS is set to the internal video (the one in the CPU, if you have one with integrated video) instead of PCIe, and you need to switch that option in BIOS.

CPU won't work without RAM memory. At least one stick needs to be in. BTW you didn't mention what CPU you have.
Check again the motherboard connections, like the supplemental power 8-pin connector for CPU (that's DIFFERENT from the 8-pin connector for the video cards).
Fan spinning is not a sign that everything is OK.
Also, try another (older) video card if you find one. At least you should see the BIOS/UEFI configuration page.

CPU is Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3. I tried every combination of RAM and also tried an older PCI video adapter. Never saw BIOS or anything. There is a CPU connector labeled on MB next to CPU and also on PS. I connected that and also the connector to the MB. I honestly wish I hadn't even started this as things seem so much more complicated.

Yes, I meant to say PCIe. I had an old ATI card that I tried.

.I was really hoping that your suggestion to connect the PCIe power (4 pin molex) would be what the problem was and I went back and did that but no dice.

Hey, thank you very much for trying to help. I really appreciate it. I've built systems in the past but quite a while ago. Still, I was never stumped like I am on this. I'll get it somehow!!

I never encounter a similar issue and I have build more than 20-30 PC over years. If you tried two different video cards, I think that the issue is somewhere else. Keep in mind that the CPU's now have the memory controller and the PCIe lanes integrated in them.

At least your CPU doesn't have integrated video, so that's out of question.

Oh, believe me, it's more than likely something that I've either done or not done that's the issue but I tried to trace my steps. In fact, when you had suggested the PCIe power, I had disassembled everything so i retried. On the memory, I accidentally bought 64 g of ddr4-2400 so I populated all 8 memory slots with the 8 gig modules. then i tried 4, then 1 to see if I could get something but I couldn't. I'm wondering if I should try another lga2011v3 mb and graphics adapter combo. I can't not have a system for my 2 sons so this is really upsetting! In over my head technically, I fear!
