Hello. I have tried so many methods, from fresh installing different operating systems to formatting it with cameras that take SSD's, but to no avail can I get rid of the SSD's info and make it new.

Been trying to fresh install an OS on but it always gives me partition errors during Windows installation. Also when I delete most of the files in Explorer as I usually have it connected as an external device to try and wipe, but whenever I delete 80% of the files, the just reappear every single time. The files that don't want to be deleted are the OS system files, all other files and media play the role in acting that they were deleted, but every time I replug it in, the files are back.

Is this SSD dead? Is there any way for me to open it and hit a reset switch? It's more than 3 years old. It's out of warranty anyways. I'm really trying to salvage this drive. Please help. :bounce:

Hi

See if the manufacturer provides a diagnostic utility to test the ssd

If you boot your pc off a windows operating system disk and take advanced option to format the disk and untick quick format it should destroy all files , operating system or otherwise

If this does not work throw the ssd in recycling bin and buy a new one

Hello... 1) Follow the "clean install" directions for your OS media used ( youtube it)... basically you need to delete all the existing partitions on the SSD/HD before letting Windows start the install. hint: Custom Install will open "drive tools" icon app.
2) You can download the MFG'r SSD drive Tools App... you can upgrade firmware or other Drive maintenance tools with it.
