Hello all and thank you in advance for any and all help.
Here is the scenario. I have an xfx 6970 and a asus vg278he hooked to it with dual link dviD cable. For some reason I cannot increase the refresh rate to the desired 120hz. When looking at CCC, it displays max detected at 75hz. I have unistalled CCC and reinstalled it fresh. Please help as I would like to take advantage of this new boss screen.

I went through the settings on my monitor and saw nothing that would allow me to do that. I fairly certain it does not have an option to do that manually on the monitor. I also took my gpu out as I saw that some models had a 1-2 switch on the card itself. To no avail I do not have such a card.

What book are you referring to? I see no listing in resolution from that is higher than 60hz when I try to change it via screen resolution from desktop. I do however see 75hz next to 1280 x 1024 resolution under the list all modes option.

So read all the manual in full and found out that this monitor only works with Nvidia chipset. Sad but it gave me a reason to get another gpu so I picked up a gtx 670 ftw and wouldnt you know im gaming at 120hz now. I notified Asus and let the rep know that this should be visible somewhere on their product and in its description.

Yeah I tried both ports to no avail and couldnt get the refresh rate to change so I went with the upgrade from my 6970. All in all im happy and thank you all for the time you took to read this and help me out.
