Hi, guys,
OK I am trying to add a 500GB WD Blue SSD to my Win10 system via USB3.
When I open Disk Management I receive a message telling me I must initialize the disk for virtual disk manager to access the drive.
When I try to initialize I receive an error message from virtual disk manager telling me "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". This occurs when trying to initialize in either MBR or GPT.
If I right click on the unallocated space ALL choices other than properties are 'greyed' out.
When I go to DISKPART, the drive does not appear.
This happens with two external drive enclosures and on two computers.
OOPS: forgot to mention there are NO flags in device manager, either!
I am STUCK!
Please advise....silly answers as welcome as serious ones
TIA,
Larry
