Cannot Install 3D Effects To Cinnamon (Linux Mint 17.1)

Hey guys, how are you doing? I have this issue after installing any 3D effects to Cinnamon from the Extensions application. I get this error no matter which effect I add to Cinnamon...

There was a problem loading the selected item, and it has been disabled. Check your system log and the Cinnamon LookingGlass log for any issues.
Please contact the developer.

Is my processor 3D capable? I have an Intel i5-4590, & I think it has 3D capability. Or could this be some software issue?

You have a 4th generation core i5 it is very much 3d capable!

Is this the extension you mention?

If so the issue is that the extension has not been updated for latest version of cinnamon. Read comment #8 by serged on how to fix (add cinnamon version 2.4 to the .json file)
