Hi guys,

Whenever I plug a USB device into my PC it fails to install drivers, hence i can't use them.

When I go to device manager and try to install the correct driver, such as USB mass storage device it cannot install. It says Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"
"Access is denied"

Edit: I cannot access any of these devices, such as a usb from my computer

Edit: Screencap of the error: http://gyazo.com/ee4bf2f3dd55f36dd16b1b498914ab9d

Any help would be greatly appreciated
ps if this is in the wrong category sorry first time on this site.

Don't mess with installing drivers for USB stick, I have never installed any driver for USB sticks all I did is just plug USB stick read/write on it and then unplug it.
Just make sure you have all the latest drivers for chipset and USB controller :)

Download CPU-Z and post picture like this.

some one who lock the usb setting.it is used in public computer by the server.only u have to format the system to regain the access of usb and any drive

FIRSTLY BOOT IN SAFE MODE. NOW PLUG IN YOUR USB DEVICE. GO TO CONTROL PANEL AND RIGHT CLICK ON THE DEVICE WHICH YOU WANT TO INSTALL. WHEN ASK FOR DRIVERS GIVE PATH TO C:/WINDOWS/WINSXS FOLDER. THIS HELPED ME

I tried the solution given by jessica
But at the last step when i click apply it gives me error " Registry editor Cannot set owner on the key currently selected,or some of its subkeys "
and unchecks the replace owners or subcontainers and objects

do you have administration rights and can you please given the error snapshot.

I cannot attach the screen shot as my laptop is allowing internet device to connect . I am sending it through other device

log on as a different user, for example as an Administrator, and try again.
