Cannot install hardly anything without getting hung

So I have just built my first ever PC and after hours of waiting I finally got it booted and installed Windows 10. Everytging was running smoothly until I tried installing NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience. The installer would partly install and then hang. It did this over and over and also to other drivers. However when I tried installing Steam it had no issues. BUT if I click to install any Steam Games the Steam Client Bootstrapper stops responding and I have to close the program. Any help at all would be appreciated!

Windows 10 gets hung on the "Checking for Updates". However I have version 1703. And my antivirus is Webroot which I did install before anything else.

As annoying as it may be, uninstall/purge Webroot from your system (disabling it may not solve the issue). Then try updating Windows and/or installing something like a game from Steam and see what happens.

Same problem persists :/

Are you familiar with event viewer? If so do you see any errors occurring? Check "System" first in event viewer, then "Application" (Note, it make take a few minutes for event viewer to load everything so don't panic if it hangs for a few minutes)

Several warnings and errors. The errors were relating to a bad block in the hard drive. The warnings are relating to unable to save data for the file.

I only have an Intel SSD 600p series 512gb, it also is worth mentioning that I tried installing NVIDIA's GeForce Experience and the installation almost completed before getting hung on shadow play.

Install this and poke around in it and see what you find. (I have no experience with SSD's or this tool, so I can't be of too much help there, but it sounds like you're pretty capable)

I got everything working properly just cleaned up the SSD a bit thank you for your help!

Me neither but the rig is installing all games and drivers like a champ. The PC gods musy be smiling upon me
