It all started when i downloaded and used RegClean pro, everything was fine, until one day,i started up my computer and it showed this : https://www.google.lv/search?q=operating+system+unknown+on+(unknown)+local+disk&client=opera&hs=2ux&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjox76KhtLNAhWnNpoKHaeSDrEQ_AUICCgB&biw=1164&bih=840#imgrc=Hy0nibOTWmLQVM%3A

I went on to try and reinstall my operating system to Windows 7,that failed and at the "Installing Updates" bit it just stopped.

At this point i am desperate and i am using Minitools partition wizard portable,i have tried wiping disk, formatting disk, creating a new partition, wiping partition, basically anything, i cannot even install an os, what do i do? please help

Hi there Barely_1,

In my view, there's a chance that the drive is failing.(or there's something wrong with it)
Most of the HDD manufacturers have their own HDD testing tools for DOS mode.(as your system can't boot) I believe some third party ones would do as well. Alternatively, you can attach the drive to a working system as a secondary one and test it with OS based ones.

If there's nothing wrong with the drive, then you will need to consider the possibility that there is something wrong with your installation media.

Let me know how this goes,
